Thanks so much for all your support. We had over one hundred submissions and we were incredibly impressed by the hard work and commitment shown by everyone who participated. For the rest of the year, we will be showcasing a selection of the best films, divided into three categories, as listed below. You can click on the links to view all of the films whenever you like, and share them with your friends!
We are Singapore's first fully open and free smartphone filmmaking competition. Any age, any smartphone, any experience level, we want to see your films! Our theme this year is Diversity and Inclusion, and what that means to you!
Smartphones have democratised the art of filmmaking for everyone, and in this spirit of openness and collaboration, the High Commission of Canada in Singapore, the National Youth Achievement Award Council and leading Smartphone Filmmaker, Tejas Ewing have joined hands to launch this competition, that’s free and open to all.
We want to inspire the next generation of filmmakers to embrace the accessibility of smartphones and tell compelling stories that bring us all closer together.
Entry is completely free and open to anyone.
Your film must be shot entirely on a smartphone.
Your film must directly address the theme.
Your film must be between one and ten minutes.
Your film will be judged on artistic quality, technical merit, creative approach and adherence to the theme.
You must address the theme in your short film. We want to know what the concepts of Diversity and Inclusion mean to you and the people you care about.
You can make a music video, a documentary, a genre film or even an experimental abstract film, as long as it deals with the theme in an exciting way!
Look at the photos you see on this page - what ideas and imagery do these photos inspire? What thoughts do they bring up? How can you interpret these concepts for a wider audience, in a short film?
